Drinks Made With Vodka

Vodka pairs well with practically any other liquid, as its taste is essentially plain. Now that flavored vodkas such as orange and cranberry have hit the market, they bring out the fruit flavor in drinks like the screwdriver and the Cape Cod.

Screwdriver

To make a screwdriver, pour 1 oz. of vodka over ice and fill the rest of the glass with orange juice.

Cape Cod

The Cape Cod is also known as a vodka-and-cranberry; it consists of one part vodka and two parts cranberry juice.

Kamikaze

A drink that's not for the faint of heart is the kamikaze, which combines vodka with triple sec (an orange-flavored liqueur) and lime juice.

Vodka Martini

The vodka martini is served with vermouth, vodka (instead of the traditional gin) and a garnish of olives, pearl unions or lemon peel. Some prefer vodka martinis bone dry, meaning they want it sans vermouth.

Bloody Mary

This cocktail contains vodka, tomato juice, salt and pepper, and a celery stick. You can also add Worcestershire sauce or clam juice; some people add Tabasco sauce for kick.

Lemon Drop

A lemon drop is made by rimming a glass with sugar, dropping in a sugar cube, chilling a 1/2 oz. of vodka and a 1/2 oz. of lemon juice in a shaker and pouring it in the glass.
