Where to Send Care Packages for U.S. Troops

U.S. troops are serving worldwide, and many of them don't have family members to send care packages. Although the Department of Defense has discouraged organizations from publicizing military members' personal information for security purposes, the following groups work with the military in sending packages to general areas of need, where packages are then distributed by volunteers.

  1. Any Soldier

    • Any Soldier, staffed by active duty military volunteers, is an organization dedicated to getting care packages to troops in harm's way. Its website has contact information, gift suggestions and mailing instructions.

    Treat Any Soldier

    • Treat Any Soldier carries already packaged care packages for deployed troops. Each package contains items requested by troops and approved by the military; it will ship to troops when you purchase.

    Yellow Ribbon Support Group

    • Yellow Ribbon Support Group packages and ships care packages to active duty military personnel in war zones. You may donate to its campaign.

    Give 2 the Troops

    • Give 2 the Troops is dedicated to sending care packages to active duty military. It is a nonprofit organization, so your donation for care packages may be tax deductible.

    USO

    • Contact a local USO. Often chapters will organize care package drives for active duty personnel, or will hand out packages at airport USO stations to deploying troops.
