MapleStory Card Game Rules
The MapleStory card game is based on the online adventure video game of the same name. In this game, players use their collectible cards to assume the role of a character. As these characters, they battle each other with the help of monsters, tactics and other items.
-
Getting Started
-
The players flip a coin, and the winner chooses to go first or second. The players remove all character cards from their decks and choose one character they want to be. The player going first draws five cards from his own deck and the person going second draws from her deck.
Cards
-
Players can use monster, tactic and item cards in their decks during the game. The top of each card shows what happens if you directly play that card. The bottom tells what happens if you use the card to level up your character.
-
Leveling Up
-
Characters can level up once on each turn by sliding the chosen card under the character card with the level-up section sticking out. The character increases 10 levels and 20 hit points for each card. It also gains the abilities stated on the card.
Playing Cards
-
Monster, item and tactic cards can also be played directly. In order to play one of these cards, the card's color must match the color of a card used to level up the character.
Attacking
-
Players can attack opponent's characters or monsters. Attacking a monster inflicts damage to its hit points, and the monster is destroyed after losing all hit points. Attacking a character inflicts damage to the character's hit points, but a monster's presence reduces that damage by 10.
Character Hit Points
-
Players can use hit point counters to track their hit points through the game. The player who reduces his opponent's hit points to zero wins the game.
