The Victoria Empress is also known as the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, British Columbia. This Canadian hotel's many amenities and Edwardian-style castle attracts visitors from far and wide.

    Afternoon Tea

  1. Afternoon tea became a tradition at the hotel when it first opened its doors in 1908. More than 800 people come to the hotel daily to take part in the service.
  2. Rooms

  3. The hotel has 477 rooms, including rooms on the Fairmont Gold Floor. This floor has its own concierge, a private lounge, and complimentary breakfast and hors d'oeuvres.
  4. Famous Guests

  5. Famous guests have stayed at the Victoria Empress, including Harrison Ford, Barbra Streisand, Katherine Hepburn and Rita Hayworth.
  6. Royal Restoration

  7. The Royal Restoration took place in 1989 and cost more than $45 million. The renovation added a new swimming pool and health spa and refurbished all of the guest rooms.
  8. Ghosts

  9. According to staff and guests, there are two ghosts at the hotel. One is a little girl, and the other is of an old maid who's been seen on the sixth floor.
