5K Runner Goodie Bag Ideas

Goodie bags clinch a great race. They replenish a runner's spent resources and advertise the race for next year. Run organizers can be as creative as they like when assembling their goodie bags.

  1. Post-Race Nutrition

    • Running Times notes that eating carbohydrate-rich foods 30 minutes after running helps the body to recover depleted energy. Granola bars, sports drinks or mixed nuts can be included in a goodie bag.

    Clothing and Commemorative Items

    • A jacket or T-shirt reminds the runners of a great race and advertises the event. Commemorative coffee mugs or water bottles can do the same things.

    Coupons

    • Running stores, shoe stores and companies like Road ID will contribute coupons to add to bags. These are great for everyone involved---runners get a deal on running equipment, local businesses get free advertisement, and goodie bags get filled.
