Serving Ideas for Lemon Pound Cake Presentation

Pound cake is filling and flavorful enough that people eat it plain with a cup of coffee or tea for dessert. When deciding how to present it, base your selections on whether they will complement the cake's lemon flavor.

Compote

Slicing the cake in half and topping it with fruit compote (try blueberry, red grape or cherry) makes the serving look bigger and more appetizing.

Whipped Cream

Put the following in layers in a large wineglass: fresh whipped cream, half a slice of cake, cream, the other half of the slice and another cream layer. You will taste the cake and cream with every bite.

Croutons

Cut the cake into bite-sized cubes and serve it as a topping to a fruit-flavored sorbet soup, like strawberry.

Powdered Sugar

Powdered sugar is a quick way to dress up the slice if you're pressed for time. Sprinkled it atop the plate, then put the slice on the plate and powder the cake as well.

Glaze

Cover the top of the cake with a lemon or orange glaze. When serving the cake, add a slice of fruit to go with whichever flavoring of glaze you chose.

Curd

For a whole-cake presentation, bake the cake in a bundt pan. After transferring it to the serving plate, fill the center with lemon curd and top the cake with white chocolate shavings.
