The Duties of a Groom
The groom has many responsibilities before the wedding as well as on the day of the wedding. Traditionally, the bride's parents pay for the wedding and the bride does more of the planning than the groom, but times are changing. The groom often takes a larger part in planning and executing the wedding details.

Planning
-
It is up to the groom to be there with his future bride to attend all planning meetings and help make the decisions that will define their wedding.
Pay
-
It is tradition for the groom to pay for certain aspects of the wedding including the bride's wedding ring, flowers and honeymoon. The parents of the groom may also assume this responsibility for their son.

Wedding Band
-
These days, many couples choose their wedding bands together. Traditionally, however, it is up to the groom to purchase the bride's wedding band and have it engraved with something meaningful.
Honeymoon
-
Again, many couples choose to plan their honeymoon as a couple, but traditionally it is the responsibility of the groom to plan and pay for the honeymoon and surprise his new bride with it as a gift.
Bridal Party/Dress
-
It is the responsibility of the groom to choose his members of the bridal party as well as to take them to choose their wedding attire. He must also make sure everyone has their fittings done and their suits or tuxedos ordered.
Wedding Day
-
The day of the wedding the groom must be prepared to pose for a lot of pictures, give the ring and any outstanding payments to the best man to make and, of course, be present at the ceremony to get married. He must also be a gracious host and personally greet and thank each guest for his attendance.
