Mystic Seaport is a museum in Connecticut. This self-described "living maritime museum" is made up of more than 60 buildings and features boats and recreations from the 19th century.

19th Century Village

Mystic Seaport features actual buildings from the 19th century that have been converted into a living museum. Among the buildings to visit are a school, chapel and general store.
Waterfront

Mystic Seaport's waterfront sports a variety of boats to explore. Among the historic vessels are a whaling boat, a fishing schooner and a steamboat.

Preservation Shipyard

The Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard allows visitors to witness craftsmen restoring old ships. There is also a paint shop and a metalworking shop.
Exhibits

Mystic Seaport has ever-changing special exhibits that range from demonstrations on restoration to galleries on nautical mapping. There is also a planetarium and art gallery featuring maritime paintings.
Visitor Information

Tickets for Mystic Seaport are $24 for adults and $15 for children under 18. It is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between April and October and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. other months.
