Information on Yu-Gi-Oh God Cards

The Egyptian God Cards are three of the most powerful cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh game. Each of the three cards require three monsters to be tributed (sacrificed) in order to summon them. They are all immune to spells, traps and monster effects. They became popular due to their use in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime TV show and movie.

  1. Winged Dragon of Ra

    • The Winged Dragon of Ra, the yellow card, has attack and defense power equal to the total amount of the three monsters you tribute to summon it. This gives players the incentive to sacrifice powerful monsters in order to summon Ra.

    Obelisk The Tormentor

    • The blue card of Obelisk The Tormentor is best summoned when you have five monsters on the field. It takes three tribute monsters to summon it, but sacrificing the other two monsters after summoning allows you to destroy all your opponent's monsters and inflict 4000 points of direct damage.

    Silfer the Sky Dragon

    • Silfer the Sky Dragon, the red card, should be summoned when you have a lot of cards in your hand. It gets 1000 attack and defense points for every card in your hand.

    Warning

    • The God Cards are banned from tournament play and said to not be legitimate cards by the game's website, mainly due to their indefinite strength. They are only for collecting or possible use in private duels, so long as both competitors agree to it.

    Theories/Speculation

    • Because the cards are banned from official play, players often have different views on how the cards could be used. One such example is if you can combine the God Cards to form a monster with infinite strength (as seen the TV show).
