Avelox Antibiotic Side Effects
Avelox is an antibiotic medication that prevents bacteria from forming the proteins that the bacteria need to reproduce. As a result, this medication can be effective in the treatment of bacterial infections, such as pneumonia, sinus infections and/or skin infections. However, it may cause an individual to experience a variety of side effects.

Cardiovascular Effects

In some rare cases, Avelox may cause an individual to faint, to develop a rapid heartbeat and/or to experience a sensation in which the heart does not feel as if it is beating in the way that it should (palpitations.)
Gastrointestinal Effects

An individual may experience bloody urine, constipation, diarrhea, a dry sensation in the mouth, excess gas, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach discomfort and/or vomiting after taking Avelox in some cases.

Neurological Effects

An individual taking Avelox may experience anxiety, behavioral changes, confusion, depression, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, headaches, insomnia, numbness, seizures, tingling, tremors and/or dreams that are unusual or frightening.
Skin

Avelox may make it easier for an individual to bruise the skin and/or cause excessive sweating, itching and/or a rash, which can range from a mild rash to a rash that causes the skin to peel or blister.
Other Effects

Some individuals may experience an allergic reaction, changes in their sense of taste, a fever, joint pain, a low white blood cell count, muscle pain, swelling of the joints and/or weakness after taking Avelox.
