OTC Treatments for Scabies
Scabies is a skin condition you may develop as a result of a parasitic infection caused by a mite called Sarcoptes scabei. Anyone can get scabies, and the mites can easily be spread by sharing clothing, towels or bedding or by skin contact with an infected person. According to the Mayo Clinic and the National Library of Medicine, there are no over-the-counter (OTC) treatments for scabies, but you can treat the symptoms of itching and redness with anti-histamines and moisturizers.
