Endermologie Treatments

Endermologie treatments are popular in spas and dermatology clinics as treatments for cellulite. Endermologie is a form of non-invasive deep massage that redistributes fat to reduce the appearance of cellulite and dimpling of the skin. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. History

    • Endermologie originated in France and became popular in the United States in the late 1990s. Unlike liposuction, which removes fatty deposits from under the skin, endermologie redistributes the cellulite, smoothing the appearance of the skin.

    Features

    • Endermologie is much like a deep tissue massage, and features a roller system that also provides an intense suction of the tissues. This suction forces the cellulite to redistribute itself, resulting in a smoother appearance.

    Time Frame

    • Endermologie is a long-term commitment, requiring one session per week for a minimum of 15 weeks. Patients will see optimal results after 20 to 30 sessions. Once the desired results have been achieved, maintenance is required once per month.

    Warning

    • Adults who are no more than 30 lbs. overweight and in generally good shape are the best candidates for endermologie treatments. Minor bruising, temporary soreness and mild discomfort may result from endermologie treatments.

    Considerations

    • Though effective for short-term results, endermologie is not a good option if you're looking for a long-term solution that doesn't require monthly maintenance sessions.
