Swine Influenza Symptoms

Swine influenza ("swine flu") is a common name for a variety of flu also called H1N1 influenza by medical professionals. Swine influenza gets its name due to it normally living in pigs, but it can combine with bird and human flu viruses and infect people as well as animals. According to the Centers for Disease Control and the Mayo Clinic, symptoms of swine influenza include fever and aches.

    Aches

  1. Swine flu may cause you to experience headaches and aches throughout your muscles and joints, which are symptoms similar to other varieties of influenza.
  2. Chills

  3. You may experience chills, which are a symptom of swine flu that may be more annoying and disruptive at night when you are trying to sleep.
  4. Cough

  5. Coughing and a sore, dry or hoarse throat are symptoms of swine flu. Coughing and sneezing into the air are ways that you can spread the virus to other people.
  6. Digestive Problems

  7. Unlike the usual circulating varieties of influenza, swine flu is more likely to cause you to vomit or have diarrhea.
  8. Fatigue

  9. You may experience persistent physical and mental fatigue that lasts for several weeks due to being infected with swine flu.
  10. Fever

  11. Swine flu may cause you to develop a fever of 101 degrees F or greater, and you may experience this symptom earlier than other symptoms of the virus.
