- Children will receive benefits until the age of 21, or up to 23 if a child is attending school full time.
- All medical care is provided through the Tricare health plan (see Resources). Children with special needs are provided additional assistance from the Exceptional Family Member Program.
- Tricare offers complete dental insurance for dependents (see Resources).
- Dependents can qualify for in-state fees at participating colleges, thus reducing tuition fees. Dependents can also use Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges to earn a degree (see Resources).
- Dependents can use military installation privileges by shopping the Commissary, Post Exchange and using MWR services, such as the bowling center, library, youth centers, education center and craft facilities.
