How Big Is a Twin Size Mattress?

Mattresses come in fairly standard sizes to better accommodate linens and bed frames. The twin mattress is the smallest adult size. Twin beds are so named because they are frequently found as matching pairs. Because it is intended for one person, the twin mattress is sometimes called a single.

    Length

  1. The standard length of a twin mattress is 75 inches.
  2. Width

  3. Most twin mattresses are 38 or 39 inches wide.
  4. Height

  5. There is the most variation in the height of twin mattresses. Depending on construction, they are usually between 6 and 18 inches high. Foam mattresses are generally shorter than spring mattresses.
  6. Twin XL

  7. A slight variation of the twin mattress is the twin XL. It is 80 inches long.
  8. Conversion

  9. A standard 38" by 75" twin mattress is approximately 99 by 191 in centimeters.
