    Mid-Level

    • The median salary for a stock trader jumps significantly after he has been on the job between 10 and 20 years, to about $91,000 per year.

    Experienced

    • After more than 20 years on the job, the median salary for a stock trader is nearly $120,000 per year.

    Top-Paying Employer

    • Self-employed stock traders often have a better chance at making more money than those traders who work elsewhere. The median salary for a self-employed stock trader is $94,500 per year.

    Top-Paying Markets

    • New York and Dallas are the United States' two top-paying markets for stock traders. The median salary for New York is $95,000 per year and for Dallas is $97,000 per year.
