Lung Puncture Symptoms
A punctured lung can have many types of symptoms that can vary from mild to severe in intensity. A punctured lung can be very dangerous. It can lead to a collapsed lung or a pneumothorax, which is trapped air that can cause the lung to collapse.

The most dangerous symptom is a pulse that is very weak and rapid. If the lungs are not receiving and processing oxygen correctly, the rest of the human body cannot receive nourishment.
Cyanosis

Cyanosis is the condition where the body turns blue due to lack of oxygen. Even if the body does turn blue, it does not only mean the lungs have been punctured. It can symbolize a blood clot has stopped blood flow also.

Shortness of Breath

When the lungs are not receiving enough oxygen from a punctured lung, the lungs can produce a wheezing sound. The wheezing sound means the body is not processing enough oxygen. When the lungs are producing a wheezing sound, shortness of breath is exhibited.
Pain in the Chest Region

When the statement pain in the chest has occurred, a physician must ask if it hurts when breathing or in the lung region or heart pain. If the puncture is quick and severe from being hit in the chest--where a rib breaks and punctures the lung--the pain is described as intense.
