What Are the Benefits of Daycare Centers?
There comes a time when some parents must send their child to a daycare center. At first it stirs doubt. Why is it so expensive? Will my child be safe? But after looking closely, they realize the benefits are plenty.
-
Convenience
-
Most parents have jobs, and no one to watch the kids. Daycare centers generally open early (some at 6 a.m.) and close a few hours after most parents leave work (6 to 7 p.m.). Some even operate on a 24-7 schedule.
Friends
-
The child is able to interact with other children close to his own age. This arms him with the social skills he'll need to function capably in the future. He is apt to be less shy and more assertive when making friends.
-
School Preparation
-
Children at the preschool level learn all the intellectual tools they need for kindergarten. This includes math, reading and spelling. Any weakness a child may have adjusting to kindergarten is noted and relayed to the parent.
Procedures
-
In daycare, the child is taught how to abide by the procedures that are in place. He learns to raise his hand when he has a question, wait his turn in line and ask for permission to leave the room. This instills discipline in the child.
Variety
-
Daycare centers have a routine they closely follow. This involves various eating schedules, learning time, fun time and nap time. The child is hardly ever bored.
