A paraprofessional, also known as a teacher's aid, is a career that allows you to be in the classroom, without having the responsibility of being a lead teacher. All state departments of education have different requirements for paraprofessionals and all colleges offer different course descriptions. This article provides information about course content that is common among paraprofessional certification programs in elementary education.
