Negative Side Effects of Concerta

Concerta is a prescription medication used to treat ADD and ADHD. It stimulates the central nervous system in such a way that it reduces impulsivity and hyperactivity. Concerta should be taken 30 minutes prior to eating and should not be taken after 6 pm or the patient may have trouble sleeping. Individuals who take Concerta may experience some negative side effects.

  1. Stomach Problems

    • Concerta may cause nausea and vomiting along with stomach pain. Also, it may decrease appetite.

    Abnormal Sensations

    • Concerta may cause the hands or feet to tingle or feel cold. The hands and feet may also feel numb.

    Restlessness

    • Concerta may cause nervousness or insomnia.

    Vision Problems

    • Concerta may impair vision slightly.

    Headaches and Dizziness

    • Concerta may cause a slight headache and may cause dizziness as well.

    Skin Issues

    • Concerta may increase sweating or cause a mild rash.
