Which Exercises Remove Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks occur as a result of the body losing or gaining a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time. The skin gets stretched passed its normal range and collagen production gets compromised. This is the substance that is responsible for the makeup of the skin. Exercises should focus on tightening the skin.

  1. Abdominal Crunches

    • The stomach is an area that stretch marks commonly occur. Crunches are performed from a lying position on your back. Form here, you place your feet flat on the floor with your hands on the sides of your head. You then contract your abs and lift your upper body slightly off the floor.

    Lunges

    • Walking lunges.

      Lunges are performed by taking big steps while walking across the floor and bending your knees so the front thigh is parallel to the ground and the back knee is about 2 inches above.

    Leg Lifts

    • Leg lifts.

      Leg lifts are performed from a lying position on your back with your hands placed under your lower spine and your legs straight out. You then lift your legs up about 4 inches. Then you lift them up to about a 45-degree angle and lower them back to the starting point.

    Planks

    • To do planks, you lie on your stomach and place your hands right under your shoulders. Push yourself up until your arms are fully extended and then just hold this position.

    Scissor Leg Lifts

    • Scissor crunches.

      Scissor leg lifts are done the same way as regular leg lifts, except you alternate lifting your legs one at a time.
