- Bounty hunter applicants must be at least 21 years old before submitting a completed application. At least three years experience with a licensed bounty hunter may eliminate the need for some parts of the application, depending on the state.
- With the application, hopefuls are required to submit a full set of fingerprints that have been taken at a law enforcement office.
- The applicant should have no warrants or pending litigation in any state. This is because the job of bounty hunter may take him to that state and impede his investigations.
- Applicant must have a valid driver's license in the state in which he resides. A written test is required to be taken pertaining to bounty hunting at the MVD (Dept. of Revenue) after the initial application has been accepted.
- Juvenile convictions must be divulged no matter how petty they were at the time. DUIs and DWIs do not need to be revealed in the application.
- The appropriate fee must be enclosed with the application package and submitted accordingly.
