Causes for Lower Back Pain & Lower Abdominal Pain

When pain in the lower back or abdomen hits, it can range in severity from mild to excruciating and it can also be chronic or acute. Sometimes this pain is felt by itself and other times it is accompanied with other symptoms. In either situation, there are various things that can cause it.

  1. Stones

    Constipation

    • Constipation takes place when the bowels are blocked with impacted fecal matter. This can cause pain in the lower abdomen and lower back.

    IBS

    • Irritable bowel syndrome is a condition where food gets pushed too quickly or too slowly through the digestive tract. One of the symptoms of this is lower abdominal pain and cramping.

    Diverticulitis

    • Diverticulitis is a condition where the lower part of the intestine gets inflamed and pain ends up resulting in the lower abdomen.

    Discs

    • Pain in the lower back can be the result of a herniated disc or a degenerative disc disease.
