Xanax, also known as alprazolam, is a Schedule IV controlled drug. Xanax is a minor tranquilizer used for controlling anxiety or panic disorders. Although Xanax is proven to relieve ease panic and anxiety, there are side effects.

    Addiction

  1. The longer you take Xanax, the more your body builds a tolerance and needs increased dosage. When you quit taking Xanax, your body can suffer physical or emotional symptoms of withdrawal. If you are addicted while pregnant, your newborn can suffer withdrawal symptoms.
  2. Reduced Sex Drive

  3. Xanax can reduce your sex drive and increase the difficulty of having orgasms.
  4. Drowsiness, Incoordination & Confusion

  5. Xanax can cause you to become drowsy, become confused, lose coordination or all three. Never drink alcohol with Xanax. These side affects can be intensified when combined with alcohol.
  6. Rashes

  7. Abusing Xanax can cause your body to break out in red rashes.
  8. Menstrual Changes

  9. Xanax can disrupt your menstrual cycle.
  10. Physician's Advice

  11. Each person prescribed Xanax can react differently. Speak to your doctor to see if Xanax is right for you.
