What Are Acrylic Sheets?

Acrylic is a plastic that is durable and versatile. Crafters have found many ways to incorporate them into projects because it can be cut and drilled much the same way as wood. Sheets come in a range of thickness and sizes. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Clear or Colored

    • Acrylic can be purchased in clear or colored sheets. Textured sheets are also available.

    Weather Resistant

    • Acrylic will maintain its clarity or color even when exposed to sun, cold, heat or humidity.

    Safe

    • Acrylic will not shatter like glass and can be used as a window pane replacement.

    Light-Weight

    • A sheet of acrylic is light and weighs half as much as glass the same size.

    Chemical Resistant

    • Many acrylics have been treated to resist chemicals, including ammonia and some diluted acids.

    Caution

    • This material is combustible and you must use caution and not expose it to flames or other high heat sources
