What Is Radiant Heat Science?

In the interest of developing green and environmentally friendly technologies, a lot of effort has been put into studying radiant heat. While not quite a science all its own, the study of radiant heat has lead to some interesting views and discoveries, as well as many clean solutions to a great deal of mundane problems.

  1. Definition

    • Radiant heat is a transfer of heat energy that moves out from a source and warms objects nearby rather than moving upward. The study of radiant heat and its uses is radiant heat science.

    Origin

    • Radiant heat studies and technologies were first discovered and used in Europe, though they have since become popular in North America as well.

    Practical Applications

    • Radiant heat systems are being designed to warm and cool places such as people's homes, cars, and even public buildings and sidewalks.

    Benefits

    • Radiant heat science is ecologically friendly, more easily renewed, as well as more comfortable as heating (or cooling, in some cases) is more evenly distributed through a place.

    Drawbacks

    • At the moment, many of the solutions that radiant heat science has provided have been relatively expensive, at least in the beginning. However, work is continuing to make these methods and technologies more affordable.
