Diagnosis of a Skin Rash

Many rashes look similar, but there are different kinds.

  1. Type 1: Acne

    • Acne can be identified by white heads, black heads or pimples, and small sacs that can be popped to release pus. Acne can be cured by seeing a dermatologist or even easier by picking up some medicine from a local drug store.

    Type 2: Rosacea

A flushed appearance on a face is often known as Rosacea. This skin rash is not very understood and does not need to be treated. It might cause lower self-esteem in people who have it, and there is no cure for the rash. Blood vessels on the face, watery and irritated eyes, and redness on the face are indicators of the rash.

    Type 3: Boils

    • If you have a rash that looks pretty disgusting, hurts and looks somewhat like a pimple, you might have a boil. Boils are a skin infection caused by infected hair follicles. They can fill with pus and become very tender. You might want to contact a doctor if you get a boil, but you can self-treat it by soaking it with a hot compress and putting antibiotic ointment on it.

    Type 4: Cellulitis

    • Cellulitis is a bacteria infection that causes redness in the infected part of the body. It often is caused by bacteria getting into cracks and cuts in the skin. If left untreated, it can become a serious problem that can spread to other parts of the body. Antibiotics can be taken to cure cellulitis when it is caught early. If you think you might have cellulitis, you should immediately inform your doctor.

    Other Skin Rashes

    • Measles, chicken pox, fifths disease and bug bites can be considered skin rashes. There are many more rashes, so if you think you might have any of the above rashes or others, you should contact your physician to receive treatment. Keep in mind there are many types of skin rashes that are treated differently, and many of these rashes seem similar but are not. Do not treat yourself for a rash that you are not sure of.
