At its core, California Type Influenza is no different from the standard influenza virus. It can affect people the same way, it can be transmitted through the same means and is medicated the same way as any other strain of influenza. However, it is important to know the early signs and symptoms of California Influenza so that you can be treated quickly.

    Fever

  1. The first sign of any flu, cold or other illness is a fever. If you feel warm to the touch or a thermometer reads over 100 degrees, you're coming down with something and that could very well be the flu.
  2. Fatigue

  3. As your body fights off the infection, you will become very weak. You will want to spend a lot of time asleep or otherwise not doing anything very strenuous.
  4. Sore Throat

  5. Sore throats are frequently reported when suffering from the flu.
  6. Runny or Stuffy Nose

  7. Because runny or stuffy noses are a common symptom of the common cold and allergies as well as the flu, it is difficult to determine which illness you have from just a runny or stuffy nose.
  8. Headache

  9. Headaches can occur with this type of influenza and can be little more than a mild throbbing, or they can be full migraines.
