Types of Vehicle Accidents
Unfortunately, a number of vehicle accidents are reported each year. There are several different types of accidents that can occur, with some being much more serious than others.
-
Head-on collisions
-
Head-on collisions almost always involve serious injury. They occur when two vehicles driving in opposite directions crash into each other head on.
Rear-end Collisions
-
A rear-end collision happens when one vehicle hits another from behind. The most common example of this is when a person slows down and the driver behind him is not paying attention and slams into the rear of his car. Whiplash is a common consequence of this type of accident.
Side-impact collisions
-
Side-impact collision
Side-impact collisions, sometimes called T-bones, occur when one car hits another in the side. These are almost always very serious and often fatal accidents. They are common at intersections and cross streets.
Multi-car Collisions
-
Multi-car collisions usually begin with two cars, but result in a number of cars becoming involved. Often these happen when weather conditions are not favorable. Two cars will get in an accident and other cars are unable to stop in time, causing a chain event of multiple cars crashing.
Single-auto Accidents
-
Rollover
Single-auto accidents can involve rollovers and hitting something other than another vehicle, such as a person or object. These can be caused by numerous factors including faulty or defective vehicles.
