Food Dye Allergy Symptoms in Children
Bad reactions to food dyes are relatively rare, occurring in less than one of every 100 children, according to the American Academy of Family Physicians. However, because food dyes are so prevalent in foods, especially foods kids love to eat, it is important to note any strange reactions your child has while eating certain foods. The food dyes that most frequently cause reactions are red and yellow dyes, particularly yellow #5 and red #40.
