Aging happens to all of us. Throughout the maturity process, your level of productivity changes over time.

  1. Children

    • Children's mental and physical abilities are not fully developed. However, their capacity for growth is limitless. Depending on what children are asked to produce, they may excel. Children are generally nimble and agile. Some are particularly adept at sports or other arenas requiring swiftness. However, they lack the understanding of adult-themed subjects, thereby limiting their productivity.

    Teenagers

    • Teenagers are more mentally evolved than children. Their speed, reasoning and episodic memory have increased and so has their capacity for learning. Under positive circumstances, teenagers can produce quick physical results, but they lack the verbal and mental abilities of an older person.

    Adults

    • Adults have been through life, experienced many situations. They know how to accumulate the inside knowledge necessary to be productive in life. They have done many of the same things repeatedly, and they are efficient in their execution. However, the older the adult, the more their physical abilities decline, thus decreasing physical productivity.

    Older Adults

    • Older adults see a reduction in productivity when it comes to tasks involving learning, speed and problem solving. The mind and body are not as sturdy as they once were. However, older adults increase their productivity in jobs requiring mental abilities, knowledge and experience.

    Society

    • From a societal perspective, older people are less productive than their younger peers. Cognitive and physical abilities are slowed, creating a decrease in economic growth. This is why positions requiring quick learning in a fast-paced environment are overflowing with younger people. A 55-year-old man may be wise, but he cannot multitask the way a teenager or younger adult can.
