Bible Study Tools for Kids

Studying the Bible can be a fun and meaningful experience for children, leading them to a deeper understanding of God, themselves and their world. There are a number of tools available to make Bible study accessible to kids.

  1. Bible

    • Options for kids' Bibles include anything from "The Adventure Bible for Young Readers" and "The God's Princess Bible" to "My First Message: A Devotional Bible for Kids." See link in Resources.

    Study Guide

    • "How to Study Your Bible," written by Kay Arthur, teaches kids how to study the Bible for themselves. This resource is recommended for children ages 9 to 12 and takes kids through a who, what, when, where, why and how inductive Bible study method.

    Devotionals

    • Children's devotional books such as "Whispers of Wisdom for Girls," "The One Year Book of Devotions for Boys" and "God and Me!" present kids with stories and scriptures to help them internalize Biblical teaching.

    Prayer

    • Books on prayer such as "What Happens When I Talk to God? The Power of Prayer for Boys and Girls" help to teach children about the important role of prayer in the Bible study and internalization process.

    Supplies

    • Simple supplies such as fine tip markers, note cards and post-it notes are useful for children who want to learn how to mark specific Bible passages or jot down questions or concerns they have as they read and study.
