- Flat mounts are used for flat-screen televisions. They have brackets that adjust to the size of the television and brackets that attach to the wall. Flat mounts lie flush against the wall, and the angle of the television cannot be changed.
- Tilt mounts can tilt up to 35 degrees and do not lie flush against the wall. They are usually placed higher than flat mounts so they can be titled down and reduce any glare on the television.
- Swivel television mounts can be adjusted both vertically (up to 35 degrees) and horizontally (up to 180 degrees). They stick out from the wall more than the others because they have greater mobility.
- Shelf mounts are used for televisions that are not flat screens. An arm attaches to the shelf and secures it to the wall. This provides the additional support that is needed on a traditional television.
- Televisions have different measurements and weights. Double-check to make sure the wall mount will support the weight of the television it is supposed to hold.
