Requirements for a Licensed Home Daycare in Illinois

Home daycare facilities in Illinois are licensed and regulated by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). The DCFS states that a home daycare may not have more than 12 children including the provider's own. The license must be posted along with a notice indicating whether overnight care is provided. The main caregiver must be at least age 18 and assistants must be over 14. There are other requirements for license outlined by DCFS.
