Seafood allergies can occur through contact with seafood, and in some cases, from breathing in the scent of seafood. Seafood allergies present themselves through various signs and symptoms.

    Skin Irritation

  1. Skin conditions can result from seafood allergies. The skin can develop hives and rashes that become itchy and irritated.
  2. Stomach Upset

  3. Seafood allergies can upset the stomach, and may cause gas, bloating, heartburn and nausea.
  4. Respiration Problems

  5. Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, coughing and wheezing are signs of a seafood allergy.
  6. Digestive Issues

  7. The digestive system may be affected by seafood allergies and diarrhea may occur.
  8. Nasal Congestion

  9. A runny nose and nasal congestion are signs of a seafood allergy.
  10. Multiple Symptoms

  11. Anaphylaxis may occur with a seafood allergy. This is when two or more symptoms occur simultaneously.
