- Around 1200 BC the first five types of roses were cultivated. Albas, Damaskas and Scots roses were among the varieties being cultivated.
- There are three subsets of the rose varieties. The hybrid is the most popular. Floribunda and grandifolora are the other two varieties.
- Roses are easy to grow if planted in the right spot. They require the right amount of sunlight (at least 6 hours a day) and the soil should be treated with bone meal before planting.
- The best time to cut roses is late afternoon or early morning before the sun comes up. Keep roses in a cool place, with fresh water.
- Specialized miniature roses were hybrid to be much smaller in size than regular rose bushes. These roses are typically grown in rose gardens, and home hobbyists.
- Rose bushes are difficult to transplant. They often don't survive the shock period. You should always transplant early morning or late evening.
