BitTorrent, or just torrent for short, is quickly becoming the standard way to download large files on the Internet. Torrent files are easily to load, but for beginners, it may be hard to grasp what a torrent file actually is. Once you understand what a torrent file is and how it is used, you will be able to use torrent files more easily.

    Function

  1. A BitTorrent download is a download of a large file, usually media files like movies, music, e-books or even games.
  2. Features

  3. The torrent file organizes all of the data in the file and provides a link for users to download. The link includes connections to all of the other users who are hosting the files.
  4. Software

  5. BitTorrent downloads can only be started by software specifically made for those files. Programs include Azureus, BitTorrent and Limewire.
  6. Considerations

  7. Most torrent downloads feature illegal content, so every precaution should be made when downloading a torrent file.
  8. Websites

  9. You can find BitTorrent downloads at torrent hosting websites like Mininova.org and Isohunt.com.
