It is common for a teenager to experience stress. It is also very important for a teen to learn how to handle stress. However, to learn how to handle stress a teen must first know the symptoms.

Constant Worry

Constantly thinking about teen pressures and worry is a sign of teen stress. Pressures include academic, physical appearance, fitting in and adapting to body changes.
Anger

Anger problems and lashing out are symptoms of depressoin. This can be controlled if your teen can feel when this is about to happen and take some deep breaths and just walk away.

Difficulty Sleeping

Racing thoughts at night and constant worry instead of relaxing and falling asleep is a big problem with teen stress.
Difficulty Concentrating

Your teen may have a wandering mind and thoughts of worry when he should be concentrating on home work or other things.
Withdrawal

Instead of being active in activities with family and friends, your teen may be withdrawn and prefer to be alone. This includes being silent in a social setting.
Eating Problems

A stressed teen can develop eating problems, such as over eating or under eating. Over eating can be due to your teen seeking comfort. Under eating can be due to pressures of fitting in or overall loss of appetite.
