People with diabetes often have to worry about lowering their blood sugar. High blood sugar levels can be extremely dangerous for people with diabetes, and it is important to know how to lower high blood sugar.

    Exercise

  1. Exercising can lower your blood sugar. As a side benefit, it can also cause you to lose weight, which can help you better manage your diabetes.
  2. Drink

  3. It is important to stay hydrated to flush out your system, but stay away from sugary juices and carbonated drinks. Water is the best drink to keep your blood sugar low.
  4. Eat

  5. Do not skip a meal in order to lower your blood sugar; doing this can make your blood sugar drop dangerously low. Instead, eat a smaller meal than normal. If you are still hungry later, have a small snack.
  6. Relax

  7. Stress can cause your blood sugar to rise, so relaxing can help to lower it. Use meditation, yoga or quiet reading---whichever works for you.
  8. Sleep

  9. Cutting back on sleep may make you more productive in the short run, but it can raise your blood sugar in the long run.
