- Hydrogen peroxide and water or vinegar and water make great cleaning solutions for LCD screens. Mix them in equal proportions in a spray bottle and spray the solution onto a soft cloth.
- Manufacturers recommend that you avoid cleaners that contain alcohol to avoid damaging the screen. Even tap water may be harmful, so use only distilled water.
- Turn the laptop or television off and unplug it before cleaning it to avoid electrical shocks. Do not spray the screen with the solution; spray it on the cloth instead.
- Do not use paper towels on an LCD screen. Paper towels are manufactured with small wood chips and fibers that may scratch the screen. Use a lint-free soft cloth instead.
- Dust the screen regularly to avoid the buildup of dust that could eventually damage the screen. Use a soft, clean, dry cloth or a Swiffer Duster so as not to scratch it.
