Side Effects of Doxycycline Tablets

Doxycycline is a prescription medication that is used to treat bacterial infections. It is a tetracylcine antibiotic. It may be used to treat conditions such as acne, gonorrhea, chlamydia, periodontitis, and infections in the urinary tract. Pregnant or nursing women should not use Doxycycline.

  1. Upset stomach

    • People taking Doxycycline may experience nausea, diarrhea or vomiting.

    Mouth Sores

    • Doxycycline may cause white spots or sores to appear inside the mouth or on the lips.

    Difficulty Swallowing

    • Doxycycline may cause the tongue to swell and may create difficulty swallowing.

    Rectal or Genital Irritation

    • Individuals taking Doxycycline may develop rectal or genital sores. Also, these area may swell.

    Vaginal Irritation

    • Women taking Doxycycline may itch in the vaginal area and may have unusual vaginal discharge.
