What Foods Can You Eat on an Alkaline Diet?

The alkaline diet emphasizes alkaline foods, mainly fruits and vegetables, and prohibits acidic foods--meat, grains, processed dairy and salt and sugar. When you're on the alkaline diet, you can still enjoy many of your favorite foods; there is no need to feel constricted. Besides vegetables and fruit, many spices are allowed, as well as a number of different beverages.   1. Vegetables

    • The alkaline diet allows you to eat a large selection vegetables, including asparagus, watercress, broccoli, carrots, kale, onions and garlic.

    Protein

    Fruit

    • Choose from any variety of fruit available, except cranberries, which are acidic.
