Paraffin wax has long been known to effectively moisturize, promote healing and decrease pain.

    History

  2. Uses

  3. According to Dermalogic, producers of the paraffin wax treatment products used by the Mayo Clinic in South Africa, dryness causes an increase in skin sensitivity. Without enough moisture, redness and itching will result.
  4. What Paraffin Does

  5. Paraffin wax is known to speed healing, soothes pain in joints and muscles, moisturize skin, open pores and increase blood circulation.
  6. How it Works

  7. Paraffin wax is put on the skin as a warm liquid wax and allowed to cool and harden. It is then peeled off. The heat from the wax is absorbed by the skin, increasing blood circulation, rejuvenating the skin and relieving sore, painful muscles or joints.
  8. Where it Comes From

  9. Paraffin wax is refined out of crude mineral oils. It is then purified, becoming safe to use.
  10. Who Can Use It

  11. With proper procedures, an individual may use paraffin effectively at home or enjoy is as part of a spa treatment.
