A Pilates reformer machine takes your Pilates routine to the next level by providing additional resistance to your workout. It also ensures that you are correctly positioned while going through the exercises. You can purchase a Reformer for home use, but it is recommended that you schedule a one-on-one session with a certified Pilates instructor first.

    History

  1. Joseph H. Pilates founded the Pilates exercise method. While working with immobilized patients during WWI, he developed a series of exercises that strengthened the core through a machine, the Reformer, and matwork.
  2. Time Frame

  3. You will begin to feel stronger in the first week of doing Pilates. Results will be visible in the first month. You will need to stick to the program for the long term. Joseph Pilates designed several different exercises, so the workout is never the same and the participant never becomes bored with Pilates.
  4. Benefits

  5. Pilates can improve your posture, strength and flexibility, as well as reduce pain back pain, when practiced on a regular basis.
  6. Types

  7. The core of the Reformer remains the same regardless of what type you purchase. Reformers may be made of wood or metal. They will have either leather straps or ropes. They may be raised or sit on the floor.
  8. Famous Ties

  9. Pilates is said to be practiced by Madonna, Minnie Driver, Sandra Bullock, Vanessa Williams, Jewel, Martha Stewart, Courtney Thorne-Smith, Shalom Harlow, Uma Thurman, Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox.
