A common use of Brewer's yeast is in the production of beer. It is derived from a fungus and is high in a nutrient called chromium, unlike nutritional yeast, baker's yeast or torula yeast.

    Vitamins

  1. People use brewer's yeast as a supplement for its vitamin content. In addition to chromium, it also has B-complex vitamins, which help increase energy by breaking down protein, carbs and fats.
  2. Blood Sugar

  3. Some people with diabetes use brewer's yeast to help regulate their blood sugar levels.
  4. Functions

  5. Another therapeutic use of brewer's yeast is for healthier skin, eyes, hair and better liver function.
  6. Weight Loss

  7. The verdict is not completely in yet when it comes to weight loss, but some people use brewer's yeast as a supplement to reduce weight.
  8. Cholesterol

  9. Brewer's yeast is used to lower LDL ("bad" cholesterol) levels and raise HDL (good cholesterol) levels.
  10. Animals

  11. Brewer's yeast is also used for pets, and helps keep their coats healthy and fleas away.
