Tile Cleaning Equipment

Ceramic tile is a good surface to have in kitchens and bathrooms where the need to clean floors well is higher than in other areas of a home. Ceramic tile is also relatively easy to clean, and requires very little cleaning equipment. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Broom

    • A soft-bristled broom is needed to sweep ceramic tile floors. Try to avoid using a harsh brush which can scratch tile.

    Cleaning Solution

    • A teaspoon of dishwashing liquid added to a solution of 1 cup vinegar to 1 cup warm water is all that is needed to wash ceramic tile. Alternatively, commercial tile cleaners can also be used.

    Mop

    • Use a mop or cloth dipped into a bucket of cleaning solution to wash dirt and grime from your ceramic tile surface.

    Avoid Abrasives

    • Do not use abrasive cleaners when cleaning ceramic tile. These cleaners can scratch the surface.

    Toothbrush and Bleach

    • Use a toothbrush to clean dirty grout lines. For stubborn stains, use a bit of oxygen bleach on the toothbrush. Do not use chlorine bleach as it may remove color, yellow white grout or weaken the grout.
