- Flowers have the best chance for survival when planted in zones best suited to their temperature and climate thresholds.
- Flowers need an adequate amount of sunlight, whether indoors or outdoors, in order to bloom properly. Some varieties of flowers require full sunlight, while others do best in semi-shaded areas.
- Soil rich in nutrients supplies the food flowers need to survive. Indoor and container flowers use potting soil to provide food and outdoor gardens use ground soil mixed with top soil to enrich it.
- Sufficient water is important during dry seasons, but avoid over-watering. Line all flower containers with small pebbles to promote drainage and prevent root rot.
- Move container flowers indoors during cold weather. For outdoor flowers, cover with burlap along with a layer of mulch around the flowers base to protect against frost and freezing temperatures.
- Provide an eco-friendly pesticide to indoor and outdoor flowers to eliminate damage caused by pests and fungus.
