Theories/Speculation

There is a conspiracy theory behind the creation of the zip lock bag. Regular plastic bags were hard to capture on camera at the time, so advertising them was difficult; that is why the new colorful zipper tops were added.
Misconceptions
-
The makers of zip lock bags advertised to the public that they would keep food fresher than regular baggies. It has not been proven that zip lock bags work better than a regular closed baggie.
Evolution
-
Glad has evolved its Ziploc brand name to include plastic containers. The containers claim the same seal security that the bags have for the past 40-plus years.
