Organic fertilizers are healthier for people and better for the environment than chemical fertilizers. Organic fertilizers can be purchased or made at home in the form of compost. Simply put, organic fertilizers are derived from animal or vegetable matter. Does this Spark an idea?

    Peat Moss

    • Peat moss is beneficial in fertilizer used to improve soil quality.

    Calcium

    • Calcium is often included in organic fertilizer to prevent bown spots and weak plants.

    Seaweed Extracts

    • Seaweed and seaweed extracts are used in organic fertilizers for their nourishing properties and rapid growth effect.

    Compost

    • Compost is not included in commercial organic fertilizers but is the do-it-yourself version. Consisting of household waste, moisture, lawn clippings and other ingredients allowed to decompose, compost is a rich soil and plant additive that works like fertilizer.
