    • Schizophrenia is caused by two factors. One of them is a predisposition through certain genes, and it is also caused by environmental factors that someone ends up going through.

    • Men and women who have schizophrenia can show specific symptoms. Some of these include hallucinations, delusional thinking and impulsive behavior.

    Treatment

    • The main type of treatment for schizophrenia is medication, but there are times where patients will not always adhere to it. Psychotherapy and support groups are added to the treatment plan.
